Right Conditions for Inspections

When is the best time of day to inspect your hives?

Inspect hives anytime it is warm enough and the sun is shining (until it gets dark), few clouds, the breeze is gentle, not windy conditions.

Recommendation: between the hours of 08:00 to 13:00 (the worker bees will be out foraging)

Do not inspect hives when:

– young bees are taking the orientation flight (from 13:00 to 16:00)

– when it is raining

– it is cloudy

– strong wind
