Every summer has its story. On a beautiful June day, adventure called and we had to go. For us, every good adventure starts surrounded by nature with the whole Apiary Book team, in the company of bees and their buzzing.
Sometimes, all you need is great companionship and a fast ride to start the journey. And so, we did!
The Apiary Book team decided to pack their bags and meet up on a Friday afternoon to head towards their final destination – the beautiful landscape of Comana.
Unlocking the love for nature, together
The day started with lots of laughs, in an electrifying atmosphere offered by GoTeleport.ro. We chose this affordable green option of transportation because we respect nature. In our quest to protecting the bees, we love to support and encourage similar missions like ours. After all, innovation and technology flows through both our DNAs!
All we could think about during our trip was that we would finally arrive and visit the hives, where the bees were buzzing with life. Our Teleport electric car definitely made our experience more relaxed. Even though outside the temperature was incredibly high, the AC inside the car created a safe & cool haven for us.
The electric BMW took us smoothly and silently on the streets of the city and finally out of Bucharest. Before we even realized, the endless rows of buildings were soon replaced by trees and fields of crops, by nature in all its amazing glory. As we made our way through the small streets of Calugareni, we couldn’t help but be grateful to be part of a community of like-minded start-ups that were built around the need to protect the environment and ensure a sustainable future for next generations.Driving an electric car is so easy and user-friendly that we wondered why it took us so long to get here. I remember thinking: “Once you go electric, it’s hard to go back”.
If the first step of our journey was to unlock our love for exploring nature in a greener way, now, it was time to greet the bees and hear interesting stories about their activities.
Having parked the car next to Delta Neajlovului Monastery, we were ready to step into the next adventure. Our Apiary Book founder, beekeeper and team mate, Bogdan, took the lead and prepared us with the right equipment to visit the hives. We couldn’t wait to hear his beekeeping stories. Our excitement to finally step into the world of bees made us forget about how hot it was outside. From afar, we heard the lively buzzing that surrounded the field and there they were: the hives were waiting for us.
Before letting us enter into their Universe, the bees greeted us at their gates. At first, we couldn’t help but take a lot of photos to mark the moment, but then we dived deep into the story of each hive, as we opened them and discovered the small, yet exciting world buzzing underneath.
It was a lesson in patience that humbled and reminded us of the fragile equilibrium that all life is built on. Just think of the fact that a single bee makes about 1/12 of a teaspoon of honey in her lifetime and that in the summer months, she has only has an average life span of about 6 weeks. Her whole life is about making sure that other generations of bees survive. And she’s not alone. She lives in large colonies with thousands of members – sounds familiar?
